The Scandalous Dress

    Ensign T'selle waited in the foyer of the Vulcan Embassy.  A formal was being held for all Vulcans in Starfleet and The UFP government.  After five minutes, Lt Cdr Selin arrived, but what she arrived in...

    "You are wearing that HERE?" T'selle asked her superior.

    "Nothing escapes your notice, does it? Selin replied.

    "But to wear a dress THAT color. It's going to create a disruption?  Why did you not wear formal robes? Why not another color besides.... beside that?"

    "It's called 'green.'  And there's nothing wrong with it, nor is showing off some skin.  Have you seen what those Mt. Selya priestesses wear?  Those dresses are so thin that a stiff breeze would unravel them."

    Green was flushing into T'Selle's cheeks. "But that's the color that Ancient warriors and... " her eyes darted back and forth and whispered "prostitutes wore! Could you not find a less... scandalous color?"

    "You mean like your pick of black or Dark black? You know, my philosophy was started because we didn't want to be like the rest of Vulcan.  I hope every Vulcan face in there turns as green as my dress!"
